We have a Staines Ramblers WhatsApp group which allows members to offer ad-hoc car sharing starting from any location locally.

Passengers usually make a voluntary contribution, currently 20p per mile calculated on the outward journey, towards fuel expenses and this should be arranged with the driver.

Apart from Assistance Dogs, we do not allow dogs on the regular programme of walks.

If you are new to Staines Ramblers please make yourself known to the walk leader.

Let the leader know if you decide to leave the walk at any time, Please do not walk in front of the leader unless requested to do so. People going ahead force the pace of the walk and make it difficult to keep the group together.

You will need stout footwear and warm waterproof clothing, appropriate to the time of year.

Always bring some refreshments, including a drink of water. The length of walks should be as stated on the programme.

Prospective members are welcome to attend a few walks before they join but are then expected to join the Ramblers Association.

Forms and details are available from the membership secretary. Walk leaders must be members.

Members are encouraged to take part in all the activities of the group. This could be leading walks, doing footpath work, being on the committee or helping with social events.

All accidents and incidents, which take place on walks, should be reported to the group secretary.

Walk participants should carry a contact number on their mobile phone or easily accessible in their rucksack in case of emergency.
