Staines Ramblers

Our group walking holiday to Buttermere in the Lake District was a week of challenging walks with stunning views in the beautiful Lake District.

The trip was organised by Mike Heather and the walks were led by two Ramblers volunteers, Rob and Alison, who were familiar with the local area. We stayed in the pretty Hassness House with amazing views of the surrounding Lake District peaks and we had plenty of good walking in spite of the weather (windy and wet!!).

For the first two days there were low level walks around Buttermere Lake and Crummock Water because of the strong winds, but then we were able to do more interesting walking to Cat Bells, Dubs Quarry, Innominate Tarn, Hay Stacks and around Loweswater.
