Staines Ramblers

Our group walking holiday to Arnside in Cumbria was a week of challenging walks in a scenic landscape.

We were based in the picturesque village of Arnside in Cumbria staying at the Parkside Guest House, and we had some sunny days and some very wet days.

The holiday was organised by Mike Heather, the longer walks were led by a local walk leader, Chris Watson, and the shorter walks were led by Staines Ramblers walk leaders: Jim, Alan, Ray and Margaret.

The longer walks were to: Whitbarrow; Warton Crag and Cringlebarrow Woods; Hutton Roof Crags and Farleton Fell; Lingmoor Fell, Little Langdale and Elterwater Lake; and Grange over Sands to Cartmel. The shorter walks were to: Arnside Knott; Rosthwaite Heights and Richard’s Seat; Rydal Water; and Fairy Steps of Beetham.
