Our group walking holiday to Hotel Meira, Vila Praia de Ancora on the Costa Verde in Northern Portugal was delightful.
The trip was was organised by Joy Johnson and the walks were led by Mark Riley of Ramblers Walking Holidays. There were 5 normal walking days and an 'easy day' to visit the towns of Valenca do Minho (Portugal) and Tui (Spain) on opposite sides of a bridge across the river Minho.
The other 5 walks were: an Ancora Valley walk, a coastal walk (South) to Correco and Afife, a coastal walk (North) starting from Caminha, a hills walk from Dem to Orbacem and a mountain walk at the Arga Wind Farm.
Many of us enjoyed the local fish, wine and beer in local restaurants around the town. Finally I must mention the flower festival on the last day which included dancing in the town square in the evening.
